I live, work and play in Wine Country, just 30 minutes north of San Francisco, California, but I serve clients across the country. As a writer with 20 years of experience that includes one book and well over 1,000 bylines, I’m able to offer both corporations and small businesses respect and enthusiasm for the written word, an appreciation for deadlines, and the ability to write and/or edit concise and creative copy. Plus, as a former print journalist and an engaging online journalist who specialized in writing about media issues and personalities, I bring to the table a code of ethics that too many of today’s informally trained writers lack.
I'm serious about my work and I'm constantly evaluating my own initiative, because what I put forward is not only a direct reflection on me, but also on the clients that trust me with their messaging needs. But that doesn't mean I lack a lighter side.
I'm also a humorist, and I express that aspect of my personality through a small business I started in 2010, Corktease Wine Country Gear. At a time when many businesses were just learning how to use social media to manage their existing brand identity and advertise products, I used my status as a Top 100 Influencer within the wine community of Twitter to create a retail business from the bottom up, based on my popular Twitter persona, @corktease.
