I am a northern California-based author, essayist, humorist, blogger and consultant, who has been writing about social and political issues since 1997. I’ve authored one book, , Sex, Lies and Stereotypes: An Unconventional Life Uncensored, contributed to three others, Legacies, Reading The L Word and Loving The L Word (available late 2010), and have written over a thousand articles, columns, interviews and blog posts.

From 2005-08, I wrote a popular column titled Don’t Quote Me for MTV Networks/Logo’s AfterEllen.com, which analyzed the ways in which gay and lesbian characters and celebrities are portrayed in the media. Access those columns here, and my complete bio here.

Today, when I’m not working on my next book, I’m blogging at Pimp My Wry, my home away from home, or hanging out with my friends on Twitter and Facebook. Join me!
